Woodwind
virtuoso Vinny Golia and legendary bassist Bertram Turetzky are
a unique duo.
Their backgrounds are vastly different. Despite this, the music they
make is innovative, inviting and memorable. The wide variety of different
musics referenced in their performances is remarkable in scope as is
their sonic vocabulary.
Remarking on Turetzky's versatility, Geore Lewis wrote " Bert
plays more different kinds of music for more different kinds of people
than anyone i know. "
Golia, the master of the flute, clarinet and saxophone families, has
an ever-growing collection of non-western instruments which he plays
with his usual virtuosity.
Their
sensitivity to each other is so attuned that one listener of
their first CD wrote the company requesting the music. These
two artists / friends are very happy to have been given a chance
to make this CD their third collaborative venture. This duo
began in the 80's and still flourishes today.
