Haggai Fershtman

Haggai Fershtman was born in 1972 in Israel. In 1990 he graduated from
the Thelma Yalin school for fine arts. In 1987 he studied drums with
David Rich. Between 1997 and 2000 he studied African drumming from Mali
and Senegal with Issac Nahum and master drummer Mamadie Keita.
In 2002 Haggai obtained a BA in Philosophy and Musicology from Tel Aviv
University. Between 2002 and 2005 he studied Philosophy at the Cohn Institute
for the History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas at the Tel Aviv University.
Between 2003 and 2005 Haggai taught drums to children and adults at the
Adam and Environment school in Gaash and at the Krinitzy school for music
In Ramat Gan.
Between 1997 and 2004 he worked with the Livnat Brothers, connecting
Jewish Hebrew heritage with jazz.
He performed in schools for several years under the sponsorship of the
Israel Ministry of Culture.
Haggai made numerous recordings and has toured extensive since the year
2000, with Harold Rubin, Jean Claude Jones, The Midnight Peacocks, Sharon
Kantor Elliot, Ariel Shibolet, Albert Beger, The Family Butchers, Ex
Lion Tamer, and Katamine.
